Getting to know… Iker
Welcome to the third post of “Getting to know…”! After interviewing Michele, on Tuesday we had the pleasure of interviewing Iker, who has just joined the Iris team as Marketing and Sales Technician.
Iker recently finished his Master’s degree in Digital Marketing, for which he decided to do his final project at Iris Chains. If you want to know more about Iker and his experience, do not hesitate to read our interview with him.
From 1 to 10, how much are you looking forward to the interview?
I’d say a 9. Today I’m looking forward to working, even though it’s still Tuesday.
You recently completed your master’s degree in the field of digital marketing. Tell us a little bit about your experience doing it at Iris Chains. What aspects would you highlight from this experience?
Yes, I defended the project at the end of July. My work consisted of a lead generation strategy in Finland and Denmark. In addition, I accompanied the strategy with a social media plan.
I combined the preparation of the final project with my internship in the company. This allowed me to apply the knowledge acquired in the master’s degree to my daily work, as well as to get to know the company in greater depth.
The internship at Iris Chains was a great help in the creation of the project. In addition, I had the constant support of the sales and marketing team throughout my learning process… the truth is that the world of industrial chains is complicated “laughs”, but I finally understood it with the help of my colleagues.
And now that I’ve joined, I’m going to implement the project I did.
Looking ahead, what are your expectations and goals in being part of the Iris Chains team? Are there any particular projects or areas you are eager to contribute to?
During my internship I worked with the marketing team, especially in the digital area. Digital marketing is something I really like, but I am open to try other departments.
Now that I have finished my internship, I have been given the opportunity to be part of not only the marketing area, but also the commercial team. Until now, I haven’t seen much of sales, so I’m interested in going deeper and seeing how I handle myself when dealing with customers.
I think combining marketing and sales can be a challenge, but I’m looking forward to it. After all, they are closely related.
To get to know you better, we would like to ask you a series of questions that we ask everyone… Which animal do you identify with?
Maybe a lion. One of my favourite childhood films was “The Lion King”… so it’s the first animation that came to my mind.
What is your favourite hobby?
Hobby as such I don’t have… In my free time I usually go swimming in the pool or in the sea in summer. I live on the coast, so I go swimming at the beach whenever I can.
And, although I know this is a more typical answer, another of my hobbies is spending time with friends and family.
Iker’s favourite food is…
How complicated… I’m a person of moments… Maybe I’d go for a good paella, although it’s very difficult to choose just one dish.
On the other hand, we have a question from Michele, who would like to know what sport you are good at.
Good question… I’m not the best in the world at sports. I’m not bad at table tennis. In the summer, when I went to hotels, there used to be table tennis tournaments in which I would take part “for laughs”. Usually I used to win or reach the final.
And finally, what would you like us to ask the next interviewee?
If you were not working in your current role, what would you be?
We hope you have been able to get to know Iker and his training stage in the Digital Marketing master’s degree. Soon you will discover the fourth member of the Iris Chains family in the “Getting to know…” section.
See you soon!
