Getting to know... Michele | Iris Chains

Getting to know… Michele

Welcome to the second post of “Getting to know…”! After the first interview of the section with Celeste, in this second post you are going to have the opportunity to meet another member of the Iris Chains family.

The second guest of “Getting to know…” is Michele and we hope that with this post you will be able to get to know him better.

Hi Michele, from 1 to 10, how much are you looking forward to the “Getting to know…” interview?

What is your position in the company and what is your role in the team?

I am an export manager, selling industrial chains to Italy and Greece. In addition to my main job, I also have an internal sales role, supporting other members of the sales team and dealing with enquiries from various countries.

What skills do you think are essential for your job?

Fluency in several languages, especially those of the country in which the work is carried out, is an essential skill. But not only that, it is also essential to apply precise logic both in determining prices and in acquiring in-depth knowledge of the mechanics and materials of the products being marketed. In this way, it is possible to fully and accurately understand what we are offering our customers.

In the world of sales, there are three key pillars to consider: price, product and delivery time. These elements intertwine to provide an unparalleled experience for our customers, where pricing is strategically set, product knowledge is strong and delivery times are reliably met. It is only by balancing these aspects that we achieve excellence in our work and deliver exceptional service.

Where is your favourite place to travel to?

Greece and Turin have become exceptional work destinations that have not only enriched my professional experience, but have also amazed me with their incomparable beauty. Every time I have had the opportunity to travel to these places, I have immersed myself in their charm and witnessed their rich culture and captivating landscapes. The combination of work and exploration in these destinations has been truly rewarding, allowing me to enjoy unique experiences while carrying out my job responsibilities.

Speaking of moments of awe and wonder, my visit to Turkey takes the crown as the most spectacular experience I have ever had. It was not only the destination itself that captivated me, but also the journey itself. Travelling the entire country by car gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in its cultural diversity, enjoying breathtaking landscapes and fascinating historical monuments every step of the way. It was an unforgettable adventure that left an indelible mark on my heart and fuelled my passion for exploring new horizons.

Which animal do you identify with?

I’m often called a camel as a joke! This is because I usually drink a lot of water, just like a camel.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced in your work and how did you overcome it?

A few months ago I had to plan and execute a highly complex and challenging order. It was a special chain that we had never made before at Iris, so manufacturing it was a very complex process.

Specifically, it was an off-the-shelf order for Greece. We made the chain from scratch, drawing up the plans in the Iris Chains technical office. Maintaining precise control over the details of the product and establishing fluid communication with the customer was fundamental to the development of the chain. The latter was key to ensuring a successful process as a whole.

What is your favourite hobby?

Motorbikes have been my great passion since I was a child. I have always been very interested in the world of motorbikes and I am lucky enough to have my own bike. I like to ride on roads that are close to the sea and nature, as it gives me a lot of inner peace.

Michele’s favourite food is…

My favourite dish is the Bufalina pizza, hands down my favourite pizza. Being Italian, it’s impossible not to like pizza!

The previous interviewee, Celeste, left the following question for you: What is your horoscope sign?
